Wolfdogs
as Pets

Having wolfdogs as pets is an idea shrouded in controversy. Partly because of the idea that wolves are vicious creatures, partly because of the idea that no animals should be kept in captivity no matter how well cared for and partly because of all the bad press wolfdogs suffer due to irresponsible, or ill-prepared owners. The majority of people aren't willing or able to put the time, money and effort in to properly keeping a wolfdog. If you aren't in the majority, if you are willing to be owned by a wolfdog, to possibly forego family vacations because you can't find a wolfdog sitter, if you're prepared to take the time and effort in to giving you wolfdog the best life it can have, then they can make wonderful companions.
Any decision about getting a pet should be well researched, be it a guinea pig or a wolfdog. Any animal is a lifetime commitment, but even more so for a wolfdog as animal shelters aren't equipped to keep them and the sanctuaries that do exsist to take them are all full.
It would be almost impossible for me to write about keeping wolfdogs as pets as it would take up all our web space so at the bottom of the page is a list of web resources for potential wolfdog owners. I suggest you do as much research as you can. After all if you can't take the time to surf for information you aren't prepared for a wolfdog.
